Join Friends of Dubuque Parks on Saturday, October 24 from 8:30 AM–12:00 PM for our Bee Branch Creek Beautification Day. We invite volunteers of all ages to join us for a hands-on clean-up day to remove litter from the lower Bee Branch Creek detention basin.

Register for the event on Volunteer Dubuque so we can share important updates and track your volunteer hours.

Did you know detention basins are critical to our local ecology: capturing runoff, filtering stormwater, and providing critical urban habitat for native birds, fish, and wildlife?

When litter collects along the water’s edge, it degrades water quality and immediately threatens the animals that feed and nest there. By walking the lower detention basin's shorelines and clearing discarded trash, plastics, and debris, our collective effort will safeguard aquatic life, improve water clarity, and restore the park's natural beauty for everyone who visits.
